Had a lovely visit with my friend last night. I actually faced one of my fears last night, Category # 2 – going into a box stall with a horse that I know (somewhat) – dear ole’ Cactus. I had my Parelli halter and lead line in hand and introduced it to Cactus who was quite willing and kind. I did it!!!
Janet & I groomed outdoors and it was GREAT!!! I felt so relaxed and comfortable with Cactus, and I actually moved around her “rear end” (another Category # 2 for me). Cactus is quite the confidence builder and I felt very good last night with her.
Janet & Penny-Paris went to the Arena to go through their Level 1 tasks and Cactus & I joined them to watch. The time spent leading Cactus around and just “being with her” was fantastic. It just felt so good again to have a “horse in hand” and Cactus is just so darn sweet, you cannot help but adore her.
Looking forward to my Lesson # 4 tonight and hopefully I can get a better, firmer seat (will try to do a bit of pushing passenger while aboard R.Z. during the warm-up period).
